PCTEL, RF Solutions GSM/WCDMA scanning receiver enables simultaneous scanning and data collection across WCDMA/HSDPA 2100 and GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800 networks. Operators can drive once and collect all the data necessary to optimize and manage multiple networks as one system.

PCTEL’s scanning receivers are used globally to optimize wireless network performance in conjunction with drive test and measurement, tower site survey, base station monitoring, and wireless analysis and post processing tools.

Operational Modes

Multiple Concurrent Measurements on WCDMA and GSM
Simultaneous measurements on both wireless technologies with no performance degradation. Complete flexibility to select multiple frequencies, bands, measurement modes and measurement values.

RSSI Scan
Measures and reports RSSI for a given channel list. The measurement bandwidth is selectable as either 200 kHz or 3.84 MHz for WCDMA or 30 kHz or 200 kHz for GSM.

HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE Measurements
Measures CPICH power for HSDPA and BCCH C/I for GPRS/EDGE.

Interference Measurements
Measures CPICH Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) in WCDMA and C/I in GSM.


GSM Features

BSIC Decoding
Decoded BSIC information can be used to identify the transmitting base station. High Resolution Time of Arrival and RSSI are also measured.

C/I Measurements Option
Provides co-channel interference measurements.

BCCH Decoding Option
Enables decoding of BCCH Type 3 message, including Cell ID, MCC, MNC, and LAC parameters and Type 2 Neighbor List. All Layer 3 types are supported.
